As I dance upon the wave
It crashes, I stumble.
I dive into its depth;
Losing myself,
I become totally humble.
There is no greatness
In a division of the whole.
For it’s all of life that supports each breath
Without the tree, there would be no soul.
Does my heart beat as it does
Because I will it to be so?
Or does life provide the force
That carries the wind and helps me to grow?
What can I praise
Without praising everything.
What can I hold
That isn’t part of this very being.
What gift can I give
That does not feed the wholeness I am.
For the rivers feed the fish,
The fish feed the life of lamb.
